Planning your weekend

March 11, 2010

If you’re going to be in Missouri this weekend, there are plenty of activities to take in, no matter which part of the state you’re visiting.

If you’re interested in St. Patrick’s Day parades and festivities, please see the blog entry from KatiesTrail (below) which puts the spotlight on Irish heritage. Don’t forget to check out our Calendar on www.VisitMO.com for more information.

If you’re interested in college hoops action, please visit our News Bureau Web site, http://News.VisitMO.com,  for an overview of the major tournaments happening around the Show-Me State in the coming weeks.

For this weekend, here are some happenings posted on our Calendar at VisitMO.com you might consider (please note, delve further into our blog for the entry “Busy Weekend Around Missouri” to find a listing of some ongoing events):

  • Jowler Creek Winery’s Grapevine Pruning, 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., Saturday, Platte City.
  • Kawa Kon Convention (a themed anime, video game and Japanese culture event), Friday-Sunday, Crowne Plaza Hotel, Clayton.
  • The Bonk Hard Chill (12 hours of mountain biking, paddling, running, trekking and orienteering) Friday-Saturday, Lake of the Ozarks State Park, Osage Beach.
  • Women’s History Weekend (historic re-enactment depicting the time Fort Osage was in operation), Saturday-Sunday, Sibley.
