Hello from MoTravelGuy! MoTravelMama and two of our friends from H/L are on a familiarization tour of the Southeast Region of Missouri and we’re having a good time. We saw an amazing mine in Bonne Terre and learned a lot about the history of mines at the Missouri Mines State Historic Site near Park Hills. We spent some time at Elephant Rocks State Park — amazing, by the way — and then stopped off at Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park. It’s beautiful and was packed with people who were having a great time in the warm summer sun. We had a nice drive through the country side to Salem, had a great meal at Stephen’s Family Steakhouse — the buffet is amazing there — and are looking forward to more adventures as the week rolls on.
